anyone on here live in the PDX area that could give me an idea of how hard/easy it is to commute to LAX? I see that there are a ton of flights each day but how easy are they to get on?

I don't know how many commuters there are out of PDX, but that seems like pretty good odds to me including a bunch of seats on your own metal.

I hear RSVs don't fly much in SEA or MSP, how about LAX, any difference?

I've been doing this commute for a little over two years and have only had to rely on my back-up flight twice.....and once was because JACS...or whatever Alaska uses instead of CASS was down. It's been easy enough that I have never seriously considered switching bases to SEA. I average about three commuter hotel rooms a month...which has definitely helped out a bunch. There are not many of us Compass guys that commute out of PDX....mostly Alaska and American guys.

So GoJet must have gotten the United 175 that were out for bid. They are hiring direct entry captains for the E170

They are so understaffed as it is,they let Captains swing gear in the right seat over there,I can't see them getting more planes when they can't staff what they have right meow
