They kinda sorta alluded to it during the conference call when they made the announcement about the 170s

The 170's mostly flew out of MSP, at least that was the case near the mid point of last year. They usually only ended up on the west coast as a replacement.

I know this topic has been discussed ad nauseum, but I'd like to get a bit of perspective for someone who is on the line versus just starting training. Now that we know (if we choose to believe what we heard yesterday) that the UAL flying isn't happening, what are the prospects for someone low on the seniority list in MSP. I'm towards the bottom, obviously bidding reserve, and lucky to block 15 hours a month. On pace to dequal before the consolidation period is up. Is this lack of flying a function of a winter slowdown, or is 15 hours a month what I can reasonably expect for the foreseeable future?

Should I just call crew scheduling and ask them or is there someone specific to call/email about this?

I doubt the base is shrinking that much, but it isn't growing. I just think the MSP trip mix will include going west a bit more. LAX/SEA delta stuff will probably be more done by MSP and SEA crews and LAX crews will probably be doing more AA flying while we're slow.
I'll send you a pm w/ details for your other question about consolidating.

wonder what the "new unanticipated expenses" could be. I'm guessing this doesn't bode well for any sort of improvement to our MX program which I would argue is the biggest drag on our controllable efficiency. That and of course the CF that LAX is which is out of our hands entirely...

I wish I didn't have to read between the lines on that last paragraph but it's random information that wouldn't be mentioned unless something's up. Hopefully it's not a hint at future concessions.
