As much as I'd like to see UA flying, they are maxed out on 76 seat scope unless they add Cseries/E190/717 to the mainline fleet.

I just don't believe there is more planes coming our way. Looking at the Firm order backlog it doesn't make sense. The AA planes are confirmed going to Envoy. I don't think SkyWest is giving up planes soon or Horizon/Alaska. Maybe Republic..... Complete long shot though. I don't know if they had an agreement for their backlog orders or not. But also if our 170's were headed to Republic why not announce at the same time we get 175's if it was a switch. Republic would have to lease or sell them, presembly to DL, UA, or AA, then give them to us. Seems unlikely. But not impossible in the regional game I guess.
Also have no idea how scope limits currently affect DL, AA, or UA being able to offer more flying. Further making this more unlikely.
I wouldn't count on anything new.
Edit: Looking at the Republic Quarterly statement, Page 16, I did read this.
The Company also has a commitment for 40 Embraer E175 aircraft under the United brand that have scheduled delivery dates through 2018. As of September 30, 2016, 16 of these aircraft have been delivered and placed into service with United and the remaining 24 E175 aircraft are scheduled to be placed into service with United in 2017 and 2018. The Company can provide no assurance that it will be able to accept and finance these aircraft and place the aircraft into service for United during the pendency of the bankruptcy case.
So maybe more possible because those are the only undelivered E175's to Republic. Still slim chance I think.

Yeah, sure they are. We've been hearing that for how long now? I talked to an Envoy guy who told me they have asked their union if they knew about any chance of getting LAX back as a base, the unions answer was no we won't be getting it back so don't ever plan on it. He explained further, Compass management loves the AE LAX operation and the ASA is written in Compass' favor.

Probably true, but very unlikely before 2020. There's something called CPA, a binding agreement between both parties. Your LIT "informant" is just a mechanic, why do you think he would have access to info like that?
