Compass Updates - Saga Continues

short answer, yes that is legal
1- they can contact you in flight or up to 15 minutes from blocking in.
after the 15 minutes you are automatically released for that day
2- you just need to watch the times, since you just did one leg, you had plenty of time left on that day. and as long as they gave you 10 hrs of rest before the flight they added, you are legal.
here is an example from the recent LA mess.
had a turn on to my schedule. because of the delays in LAX we left late. They ended up turning the trip into an overnight. They gave us 10 hrs of rest and we were scheduled to just return to LAX next day. During the return flight they sent an ACARS, telling me to DH after landing and then repo a plane. I got done about midnight. Since I only came on the clock that day at noon, I was legal.
Bottom line, if you are a reserve pilot, they own you for your reserve period unless you are automatically released per the 15 minute after a flight rule or you call and get released. (also auto release at 1800 on last day)

ps: if your phone battery is dead, then you wouldn't be able to log into CrewTrack or FLICA or update your app.... until you got home and charged your phone....right?

I'm not sure about #1. How do they contact you in that 15 minutes? As long as they didn't ACARS me in flight, I'm out. Remember, we aren't even required to HAVE a phone (or else the company would be required to provide us one). Who's to say the battery isn't dead since we aren't allowed to use the plug for charging our cell phones? Yes this has happened to me. No, I didn't receive the calls. No, I haven't heard a word about it.

It sounds there are some additional aircraft in the near future. After sending a message to management about taking the company leave of absence my brother was told it would be approved only if there was in fact a loss of flying. Hopefully that means they know something no one else does.
Also have no idea how scope limits currently affect DL, AA, or UA being able to offer more flying. Further making this more unlikely.
I wouldn't count on anything new.
Edit: Looking at the Republic Quarterly statement, Page 16, I did read this.
The Company also has a commitment for 40 Embraer E175 aircraft under the United brand that have scheduled delivery dates through 2018. As of September 30, 2016, 16 of these aircraft have been delivered and placed into service with United and the remaining 24 E175 aircraft are scheduled to be placed into service with United in 2017 and 2018. The Company can provide no assurance that it will be able to accept and finance these aircraft and place the aircraft into service for United during the pendency of the bankruptcy case.
So maybe more possible because those are the only undelivered E175's to Republic. Still slim chance I think.

To my point. If you answer their call after you are finished with your trip, you just did them a favor.

did anyone else notice that there are green days in MSP for January that have less than 20 reserves? looks like that must have adjusted the numbers. maybe it has to do with the overstaffing?

What with the changes we will to go through in the coming months, I think we can all agree that a lot of people will head west. Of these people is anyone out there looking to relocate? I am thinking about it myself, but would need a roommate. PM me if you want to get in touch.

So if we were to get a contract the earliest we would see flying is like Q4 2017, I guess. More than likely 2018.
