As much as I like that optimism, I'm not sure where you're gathering that information from.
I'll believe that when I see the new tail number on my dispatch release and I'm looking at it. Until then it's just talk. Sounds like Republic will be getting those UA birds. IAH is supposed to open for them in the next year, but then again I'll also believe that when it's a press release and not just hearsay.

Seems like 12 are confirmed for Republic if their thread is correct. So there is potentially 12 to bid for.
These short term gains are great for whatever regional gets them. But UA also just basically cancelled the 60+ 737's... Not good, all things considered. I wish nobody got these 175's and UA took delivery of the 737's.

Cite your source. Mesa is a private company.

Agreed I wish UA was keeping that 737 order and insourcing their flying, but if it's got to go to a regional I'd rather it go to one with standards rather than a bottom feeder. I wouldn't mind seeing them on Compass property especially if it means a new domicile towards the center of the country.

Just talk to any current or ex mesa guy and they can tell you. They bid that UA flying for pennies rather than dollars

My understanding is the UA is basically converting them from - 700 orders to MAX orders and therefore delaying delivery. Not a full cancellation at least it seems!

Yes not a canceling of the order but it seems they shifted their thinking about taking some regional flying in house with changing the order to large planes. There is some talk on the UAL forums that they are still looking for -700s on the used market. Have wait an see what they do.
The real bad news is they scaled back their hiring estimate for 2017 to 650 instead of 1000.

[QUOTE=sparrowhawk;2245690]The United bid did happen, Mesa is loosing money on that contract and that's a fact.

Loosing??
Any chance you and a few others could learn to spell LOSE properly?

First year pay increases or signing bonus? What's Compass's next move to stay competitive?
I'm guessing something will be coming, just a matter of how long it takes before it's announced.
