Compass Updates - Saga Continues
#1552
Nope not allowed at Compass. Upgrade is one of the lowest in the industry. Right now it's 1000 121 time so we are seeing guys with previous time on the line for like 6 months and upgrading. If you start with 0 121 time, expect 18-24 month. It should get lower in the fall when everyone starts leaving. In July we had 11 captains and 7 FOs leave.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. Every class from now on, starting with the one that started yesterday is at the Extended Suck America. All of those at the Towne Place just got extended in their current rooms, even though the contract is up. And apparently the Extended Stay has already had some issues with room cleanliness and stuff. The general consensus among my new hire friend's class is that they don't want to be a bother and want to keep their heads down since they are on probation, new to this, etc. Pretty sad.
I heard that at least one guy in the class that started this week has already contacted the head of training and the CP about the situation with the Extended Stay. They said they are looking into it.
The rumor going around is the hotel contract was terminated because of an incident. Disclaimer: this is a rumor.
The story going around is that a Compass pilot got into a loud argument with the hotel manager. Because of this the hotel raised the hotel rate and TSA said they would not pay it.

Note that the Kelly interpretation put out by the FAA excludes single pilot freight time from counting, even if the aircraft is large enough. Basically the operation must require you to have an ATP, which single pilot freight doesn't.

$550/month x 12 months = $6600! Quite a chunk out of FO pay! Yikes!
FYI, gap family health insurance is a couple of hundred dollars cheaper then this, and is good for up to a year.
