Compass Updates - Saga Continues
It’s ok ala5ka is a horrible company. They’re getting destroyed by DL in SEA and that’s a beautiful thing to watch... and I hate DL.
Anyone on the inside at AAG knows that their future is uncertain. I’d take what AA/DL gives us every single day over the blubber nuggets AS forces down the throats of QX and VXs.

The difference is.... At QX the top 300~ guys are not going anywhere. That jr Captain will never get a schedule or vacation they want.

I completely agree with you. I'd take CP over QX any day of the week. One shouldn't choose a company based solely on upgrade time, but if that's your only metric then QX wins hands down. Before applying there for a quick upgrade you also have to consider what contract shenanigans led to their upgrade boom.
Not only that but ultimately all those senior guys will go to the jet - and then just sit there - not only capping the seniority of the junior captains but slowing advancement for everyone. Ultimately, every Q400 retired will free up 4-5 captains, most far senior to existing jet captains. But with the only vacancies then coming from the smaller number of less senior captains moving on, it's like taking three-quarters of the captain slots out of play for FOs wanting to upgrade.

Speaking of hats, for those of you who think you’re at mainline: Regional pilots DO NOT wear hats! Everyone at mainline is laughing at you because even they don’t require hats, and the ones that do, pay a decent wage. Do these pilots know the flow to DL ended a decade ago? At least half the pilot group today does not wear a hat.
The company is laughing all the way to the bank after getting our CBA extended for another two years, in addition to IOCC, and our sub-human travel priority. Even after all of that we still have guys wearing the hat...unbelievable!
Show yourself some respect and leave that D-Bag magnet at home, or stow it in your bag.

What’s the best way to estimate current reserve times? There’s quite a few of us coming off IOE and I’m sure would like to know how to figure it out.
New seniority list is out, as well as July Bid and RAP awards, but could anybody shed some light on how to sift through all this info to figure out reserve times? Thanks!

Take seniority number for the most junior line holder (look at bid award and note where the reserve line starts), see where you are and figure how many numbers away you are. Figure out how many you will move, and estimate. Just know that both the junior line award number ad how manynumbers you move a month will fluctuate a little.
When PHX opened, we lost lines in LAX, although I was 10 numbers away from a line, the junior line holder position moved up significantly so that I went from 10 lines away to 30.. that sucked, usually it just fluctuates with the seasons a little.
