40ish new hires on latest award, NHs going to LAX and SEA. Congrats to all the upgrades, both seats looking better staffed this Fall IMO.

Are we flying for the same company? My last trip they tried to force us to fly with less than 10(8) hours rest, and spent 45 minutes arguing with the CA about it on the phone, threatening us with MFAs... all while we were at the hotel waiting to get off the phone and sleep.
Their argument was that the “8 hours of uninterrupted sleep opportunity” was measured from when you arrive in the hotel lobby to the show time. So we had to explain to CS that arguing with them/waking up/dressing/crew van/customs wasn’t part of those 8 hours. Refused to transfer us to a chief pilot, but did transfer us to a SOC supervisor who told us “MFA’s if you don’t show”
Not to mention that the plane was AOS and they didn’t expect it to be fixed until 12-15 hours later anyway

Or better yet, tell the scheduler "I will be calling in fatigued in the morning if you don't push back the show time."

Hey guys, waiting here on my training class to start. Hoping for PHX. With the latest award coming out and new hires going to LAX and SEA does that mean that PHX wasn’t available? How big is the PHX base? What kind of movement are you all seeing overall? Thanks

There were 2 open vacancies for PHX FO but they went to pilots more senior to the new hires. But it looks like they were only about 50 raw numbers away so it could happen sometime. I think PHX is going to stay around 30-40 pilots per seat so it's only going to open vacancies for attrition.

PHX is small, mostly people had been getting it right away but I wouldn't be surprised if eventually it does get a bit more senior. The good news is PHX to LAX is a pretty easy commute until you do hold PHX. I don't think PHX will ever get that large just due to us not doing much flying out of there, you just go to the hubs (SLC, SEA, LAX) and start a trip basically.

neat! Then I can finally figure out who you are.
Flew with a guy a couple of months ago and we got to talking about this board. He pulled this list of about half a dozen user names and asked me who I was. Lol so he then writes my real name next to my “poser765” which he already had written down. I felt famous.
You were on there too.
