Remind me again why Delta would want us when we push about 6 D-zero flights a month for them?
Walking around SeaTac is a joke. Every single 57xx flight on the departure board is delayed every single day regardless of weather

I dunno about you, but my Delta flights all go out on time, except for occasionally maintenance (but not that often really), and the rest of the time it's Delta issues that would affect any other operator, ie no cleaners, forgetting to load a bunch of bags, or any number of other stupid delays I've taken lately. I think I've taken two actual flight ops delays in the past year... inflight has been much better too since they don't have to do the count anymore.
Oh, and Seatac has been screwy the last few days because of GDP. It's not like they put that on us.

They actually did want us. Deal fell through though because TSH is TSH and Delta walked away. That’s why 9E stopped hiring for the summer and now resumed classes. There’s a guy over there that has some good inside info.

Explain? Or pm me? I was told 9E stopped hiring because their new contract has them swimming in applications with over 100 in the pool waiting for class

I was under the same impression. I had a friend waiting ~4 months for sim time.

I don't know the reasons, but I can confirm we had went from 60 a month down to 15 a month suddenly and we're told we may resume 60 a month in the fall. Then out of no where we get told from the recruiting director after a meeting with our CEO and COO that were going back to 60 a month immediately. Guys we were telling to expect a January class are now going to July and August classes. Beyond that it's speculation and outside my realm of inside knowledge. I'm sure there's reasons for all this but not clue why.
There is a guy named TalkTurkey who has some sort of inside info. Of course it’s all “speculative” for legality he says but it makes perfect sense. Their summer classes are in full swing again. Anyways it doesn’t matter the details, the deal fell through.

Yep. MD88 entered service for Delta in 1988, the last in a series developed from the DC-9. It's 30 years old, getting tired, and won't do much if anything the Embraer -195 E2 won't do better and cheaper, while burning a lot less Jet A. Heck, the MD88 still has JT8Ds.
Makes all the sense in the world to start replacing the old MD88s - and stapling over 600 already qualified pilots onto the bottom of their seniority list to fly it.
You heard it here first.
