Got a voice mail from scheduling tonight about junior assignment on the CA side. Are we going to start seeing It on our side now

Time to increase upgrades to captain? As the effects of the FO hiring freeze (and subsequent shortage) age out, a follow on captain shortage was always a strong possibility. How many Compass captains already have CJOs from the majors for when they ramp up training after summer?

Yep, the captain shortage is probably here, summer flying picks up, didn't upgrade in the winter/spring, now attrition will pick up too.

I'm trying to get out! No luck yet, but more and more of my friends are getting CJOs. The major hiring standards haven't come down to me yet haha

Not that short on CA yet, still barely any crib pay going out for CA. Also, the footprint for CA upgrade is far smaller, so if they get a bit short they can run a big CA class very easily.

Yeah true. But do you really think it's that short? Yeah the actual footprint is small, but add cell, ioe w/fed ride etc. I think it's still a solid 6 weeks before you are on the line.

Ps. I like how no one calls it critical pay anymore, thanks to G money. It will always be crib pay now lol

Just make sure to put down on your app that your extra duties to help the company include auditing the snack basket and you'll be golden! Majors like to see guys who do more than just fly at work.

It's a labor of love. I need to add "world class citizen" somewhere on my airlineapps, wonder if it will conjure up more points

I wouldn’t doubt it. The question is will we get it? Mesa will probably come in at the last minute like our last UA bid. Though I know they are having staffing issues and I’m sure UA can’t be happy with that.

Just for fun, let’s entertain it. Where do you think they would go? IAH?
