Current Reserve Times
Anybody have insight on current length of sitting reserve and seniority to hold PHX?
I sure hope this keeps up, even if it's just wishful thinking. I've been watching Compass developments like a hawk since last fall. I'd like to stay in Phoenix, and that means three choices. Mesa isn't even a consideration for me. I keep vacillating on Skywest. More planes, upgrade times started dropping. But they're pushing more and more to the east coast, PHX is now over a year on FO seniority, morale is tanking, and pay is lagging. It'll be close to the end of the year before I have my hours, that's a lot of time for things to change. Fingers crossed, though.

The runways are too close together unfortunately, 16L and 16C are very close (773 feet centerline to centerline, ~580 or so edge to edge). So the approach controllers have told me they're treated "as one runway", basically. What they really need is bypass taxiways to get rid of all this cross the center hold short the right... cross the right... and be able to line up and depart all traffic off 16C so they can do simultaneous landings on 16L/16R. Also if alpha ran all the way down parallel, they might give 16L to us more often, but more often than not you're in the way with all the traffic going north on bravo to depart. At this point, it's a terribly designed airport with a mostly useless center runway.
I think they should just eminent domain all the real estate south of the field, add a crosswind runway that departs over the sound (7000 ft or so), put the bypasses in, and then they could depart to the west/east while traffic lands simultaneously north/south.
