cautiously? I won't. I'll openly say it. Dude is over reacting.
I don't know how long he's been here but 5he rub is this... The company, until very recently, only seemed to care about new hires. They were throwing money at them like crazy... And that can't even make it through training? Yeah we're going to be a bit sore about that.
I've been busting my ass almost two years on reserve now. Did I get $17.5k bonus? No. I got another shift of ready 4eserve and a triple deadhead to work one leg. I'm not mad I didn't get a bonus... Im mad the company doesn't care that I'm still here driving their operation.

"You have just been awarded LAX, however you still can't afford to pay to live out there, so you spent your signing bonus on a 1982 Ford E-series camper van. You have $5 in your bank account and no cash on you to eat out. Due to your low income status, you have no credit cards either and have to wait until your next paycheck for more money. You presently have a pot roast, potatoes, and some tin foil in your van, but the stove inside doesn't work due to it being broken when you purchased the van because that's all you could afford. WWYD?"

Don't know his situation but guessing he's a captain that bypassed a bunch of people by upgrading pretty quick after being hired by Compass with previous 121 time. Longest FO reserve within the last year I think is around 11-12 months. Just talked to a new FO that had 1 full month of reserve. It all depends on when you get hired and the staffing of the company.

Upgraded and skipped a bunch if people with the time right at the tail end of the upgrade wave. Went months with people upgrading ahead of me, then the months were no one upgraded at all.
I'm finally in a position that my seniority should hold and upgrades are junior to me now. Another month or two and I'll hold a line.
I'm certainly not unique in the situation, but we are still kind of an outlier.

Speaking of upgrades, I am wondering if my math is right. How are we looking? On the latest award it appeared 930-ish seniority numbers were getting awarded upgrades. At the rate of 8 upgrades a month right now, that is going to be 3 years plus some to upgrade total for those of us who were stuck on reserve for 10 months last year. Is anyone else seeing that? I assume upgrades will pick up at some point...
