I think the biggest hold up at this point is sim... they seem to be filling classes now but it seems that guys are waiting weeks and weeks to sim. Any instructors care to shed some light on it?
Again all speculation and rumors!

For schedules, there are a lot of built in breaks. So far without having to redo any events, I’ve had a week break in between SIT and FPTs, 2 weeks before starting SIM’s with a week break in the middle of sims, and 1 week in between LOFT and LOE. Some of friends have it much worse at other regionals.

Dont quote me on any of this.
Hawaiian Flow is dead.
We are currently hiring and training at a rate that leaves us “growing” at a decent rate to return to normal staffing.
Sim time is severely bottlenecking us. Lots of failures. Trying to make modifications to training to improve this. (Also less selective in interviews)
Nearly 50 pilots weren’t delivered to line flying on time in feb/March due to bottlenecking and failures.
There were indications that Republic was SERIOUSLY attempting to acquire us, but something fell through a couple weeks ago (funding from DL possibly)
No signs point to an endeavor or SkyWest acquisition
No more levers planning to be pulled in recruiting. Company is filling classes at an acceptable level.
Goal is to achieve normal staffing by July 2018.
Likely upgrades will measurably increase in summer and fall.
Seems to have finally turned a corner in a good way
Bidding for additional birds in the next 18 mo.
again don’t quote me on this/take with a grain of salt/just speculation/saw it on a yoke clip

As for sims there's a new person controlling the scheduling for students. Many had a week break, couple days of training, two weeks off, a few more days of training. However the latest classes are more streamlined and only have one break from one to two weeks with the rest just being a day or two off for travel.
