as a quick review... as a lineholder we're contactable for a junior man through what?
Acars?
A gate agent meeting us?
I get this rule confused with my last company. They could not junior assign us through acars and we were not required to have a phone on the trip. If they wanted to junior assign us they had to have a representative from the airline meet us.
Compass they can right?

Being junior manned (or junior personed?? It's 2018 after all) totally blows.,And I believe in following the CBA and sticking it to the man as much as possible, but it is going to start becoming our problem when DL and AA get wind of our staffing issues especially when we start taking cancels for lack of crews. That's the one way ticket for us to lose flying really fast.

Not to mention... the only thing holding half your FOs here is the hope of a quick upgrade. You start slowing upgrades we have 300% the motivation to move to a LCC. Not to mention the quick upgrade is the most important thing to new applicants. Summer attrition on both the CA and FO side is going to be massive, and there’s no plan in place to keep this place staffed.
Management is digging a hole fast. Soon it will be too deep to get out, no matter how many levers they pull.
And don’t count on pilot referrals. Your pilots are miserable and its all due to your poor planning and failure to listen.

Hear that, management? Aggressive and immediate action is needed or recruiting and staffing will become exponentially harder as schedules get worse, upgrades slow more, and pilots become increasingly miserable. You dropped the ball in 2017 and regretted it, don’t drop it now. All of our jobs (including management) depend on it.

Pretty harsh wording but I agree 110% with you!

My understanding is that it must be a company rep which a DL or AA gate agent is NOT. So they could send a BCP or base admin to notify you but not technically a DL or AA agent. Correct me if I’m wrong, pay me it I’m right!

Like many things in the contract, the language is ambiguous at best...basically they can "designate" anyone (gate agent, ramper, wheelchair pusher etc) as a "company" representative
