A direct correlation, might I add, to not having competitive pay, employee travel, healthcare, or career progression. We’re not even in the running against YX, 9E, or the WO3. Being mid-tier might be ok for mgmt, but it’s not going to fill the seats. How are other companies that offer less, even afloat right now?!

Everyone in my class and the one in front and behind us has passed both GOS and Systems the first try. That’s what the CBTs covered.

What I’m hearing people are struggling with are the FPT’s. That’s where we need more time. Not in class room learning systems. But more time in the FPT’s.

Even better yet would be to spread them out a day apart each. So that the guys can have time to study between lessons. Verses these big 5-14 day breaks between FPT’s and Sims.

I’m not saying guys need more gos training. With a traditional style of training, it will give you guys 2 more weeks with your sim partner to study flows and call out. Plus it can spread the learning curve a bit. You will soon see that your going to be overwhelmed once you get to systems and vsim which is combines. And if Doug teaches it, good luck on retaining anything. This will then snowball into a mess once You hit fpt.

Our flows are not thaaaat complicated here. It really shouldn't take more than a few nights of sitting in a paper tiger with your classmate. I do remember in FPT 1 it was a bit of a surprise just how much they wanted you to know, but that let us study really hard and rock it for FPT 2.

Clearly our training is hard if only 50% of the newbs are failing

exactly. the first wave of CFI types being hired here in 2014-2015 weren't being held back/ re-doing lessons. We fly the easiest airplane flow wise. The fact that there's so many issues in the school right now is concerning. Hopefully it doesnt speak to the types of people we are hiring now.

We do need to take a look into our training department. Just like everything else it sometimes seems like SLIPs are often more concerned with adding that to their resume rather than actually teaching. No offense to you guys, I get it. But there's a duty that comes with any job and I would hope that they teach to a level that Ray or Marty accept and not just teach what's on the line.
