Is that exactly the story? Do we have proof they actually heard the Public Address system? Knowing how much a mess our scheduling department is, I’m hesitant to blame our crews.

um, what? Were they originally scheduled to fly the turn? Should they have been released from duty before the turn? Does it state anywhere in the contract that a public address is positive contact?

Sounds like they weren’t scheduled to fly the trip or else why would the be “hiding” in the cafeteria? If scheduling wanted to reroute the crew, yeah a PA isn’t goin to cut it. 4+ hour sits in SLC...I’ll side with the crew on this one.

They should have tried the pilots beeper/pager

Seriously though there's something off about the story.

What’s your source for this information?

Yeah I'm not even putting my burrito down for a PA.

I stand corrected. Can Somebody post the FO pay scale down to the pennies. And designate whether it includes the last adjustment on January 1. Also, are they paying per diem during training now because it is all out of domicile (per the contract) Thanks

Actually posting the agreement online in a PDF file wouldn't be a bad thing either.
