Just going off this website's info (all may not be up to date and accurate), Compass pays more than (hourly/bonus):
CommutAir
ExpressJet
PenAir
PSA
SkyWest
Higher hourly wage, less bonus (not factoring in bonus money since there is a solid argument that it only benefits new hires)
Mesa
TSA
Envoy
GoJet
Horizon
Piedmont
And also pays more than a bunch of little outfits I haven't paid any attention to.
I'd love it if management were proactive on the issues Compass is facing instead of being reactive and falling behind putting the company and everyone in a bad position.
Compensation should go up, and get rid of bonus money in favor of higher hourly for everyone - not just new hires.
There are only a few west coast airlines, that does bring in people.
QOL - read the Envoy threads, nuff said.
If you tell people not to come here based on compensation, I'll buy that. Endeavor's pay looks pretty damn good. But saying don't come here in general just shoots yourself in the foot. All of us.
Just my thoughts, right or wrong.

What I will say is Compass is a great place to be if you're living in one of our bases or live where it's an easy commute to one of our bases (ideally in a city we serve regularly). If you're living in the east coast, look elsewhere.
Lots of people (myself included) look at bases (and especially the seniority of those bases in each seat) when choosing an airline. We still have a much faster upgrade in LAX than Skywest for example. Some people aren't excited to commute to ORD or DTW from the west coast. I'm one of them. Been fortunate enough to never have to commute a day in my Compass career, and that's saying something.
Things could be better, but that's what we airline pilots do: complain about everything. Personally I doubt that we'd lose all our Delta flying because I doubt anyone else could staff it in this current environment. But I could be wrong. Hopefully I'll be out of here before that "judgment day" comes though.

PSA offers not only a sign on bonus, but both FO and CA retention bonuses. Jr man pay is 175% and they get profit sharing. They have flow to AA.
CommutAir offers CA pay to all pilots with 12 months longevity even in the right seat and a 22k signing bonus current upgrade time is roughly a year to a year and a half. Last year guys with the time could upgrade, then transition from the Dash to the Ejet in under 12 months. They have a United CPP.
ExpressJet offers the UA CPP. A defined contribution to your 401k before any deductions from your income.
SkyWest pays lower hourly, but again offers profit sharing and street captain for those with prior 121. they're still growing and word on the street is management wants to renegotiate their pay increase early because the 1% was not enough to attract the talent (unlike TSH who are dragging their feet)
Yes you can say that they pay lower per hour, but there are pros and cons to any decision. A healthy bonus with profit sharing and the ace up your sleeve to a legacy in case you don't make it there before a flow are quite attractive. Or a quick upgrade, which might make someone's resume attractive.

As much as I desperately want some guys underneath me on the seniority list, I wouldn’t tell anyone to come here, and I would NEVER refer a friend. Unless you live in LA or Seattle (ehhh pheonix too), there’s no reason to come here compared to our competitors. Our management isn’t willing to pay us what we deserve, or be competitive with our peer airlines. They’re using a bonus to keep it that way.
If the 2020/2022 contracts were bulletproof, though, I’d say this is a great place to come for a fast upgrade, friendly crews, great flying, and a solid shot at mainline..

It's not all bad. I just go to work fly and have fun, put hours in the logbook. Don't stress about the future. No matter what happens today or tomorrow, we'll all have jobs, it's not 2008 fellas. Get your hours and go to mainline, try to enjoy the ride along the way. And have a snack.

Do any other DCI carriers have S3C in delta? I’m very last on the list every time. I feel like a retired rampers mom’s pet cat could get a seat before I could

The only DCI that has higher priority is S3B and don't worry, that still doesn't help that much unless you are going to like Fargo. Remember you are an S3 on your own metal though. I guess that is something.

I can't tell you how many times I've been bumped by S3B guys going to Fargo, there's nothing worse let me tell you
You may have better luck going to less touristy destinations like Bismarck or Missoula. Those flights to Fargo can getcha. Especially this time of year when the weather is great!

It really comes down to living in the LA area. I looked heavily into Skywest (even with the low pay), but junior CA in LAX is like 2014 & 2012 for CRJ & ERJ. Yeah I can hold LAX within a year as FO but then I'll be commuting for the next 4 years. I really don't care too much about the pay- it's the commuting I don't want.
There really is no guarantee for flying after the contracts end though, correct? What happens then? Especially the AA flying out of LAX. Envoy rumors are that AA gave CPZ the planes because the pilots voted down a contract at the time and once the leases are up, the planes (and possibly LAX) are going to Envoy. All rumor at this point, but I can't help but wonder how safe it is coming here.
Too much speculation maybe
