This is the company that lied to us about delta releasing a list of career fair attendees. Lets just say I'm pressing x...

People like you are apart of the problem in this industry with the stereotypes. What’s your explanation for the other pilot ? Let me guess he knew someone or he’s the chief pilots son. That’s always the go to without knowing anything about credentials.
All my friends that have been hired at Delta said they made it clear that hours isn’t the only thing they are looking for. They don’t want just experience pilots because to them everyone at the airline level can fly Whether you have 1500 hours or 6000 hours. It may seem unfair but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles and it’s their company. So complain all you want either you fall in line and fit what they want or you go elsewhere.
Great news for me yesterday I got the call to Delta and I hope I’m successful at the interview so I can move on and create a slot for someone else below me. Maybe instead of talking down a former coworker you should’ve done like me and him ask for advice. He’s a nice guy and regardless of how he looks he’s an overachiever especially at his age whether you want to admit it or not. I listened to the kids advice a few months ago and it seemed to work. Whether it was his advice or not something got me a call. I’m not a female or minority either since you wanted to put ‘obvious facets’ in the equation just thought I’d let you know.

If you figure Delta hired 1000 pilots last year, you can cut about half as being military because you just can't compete with that, period.
Now you have 500 people you're competing against for a job. Delta's own hiring stats say that 10 percent are females and another 5 percent are minorities. So you're competing against 85% other white males. How many of them have direct connections with recruiters/board members/chief pilots office? Either way you're left with approx 400 other pilots who have similar qualifications, similar experience, similar demographics. What are you doing/not doing to separate yourselves from them in either a positive or negative way?

I joined the Latino Pilots Association hoping that would help... crickets. And now they want to charge $20 a year for membership, it used to be free! unbelievable.

So are the Delta questions something that the recruiters were doing, stopped and have started again?
Is there a specific hiring timeframe that will benefit from this? Older, newer, all?

Didn't we just have an all employee call and there's one again tomorrow? Or do I have my timelines messed up?

The DPI is for pilots hired years ago during a certain time frame. It will not benefit anyone but them (other than increase in seniority for those behind them if they leave). It is not a guaranteed interview like endevour has and hopefully our recruiters aren't playing like it is. It is a preferential interview meaning when they apply their app gets "preference". What that means, no one knows. And since it's all behind closed doors could mean nothing or it could put their app scores higher than a more competitive non-DPI application. It's best to let this go it's course and see what happens. I truly hope it means those who are eligible get hired.
