Compass Updates - Saga Continues
If you configure properly, which is to arrive at 1000’-1200’ agl “stable” and no sooner, flap 4 is a tool you’re allowed to use. Someone who knows how to fly a plane, will use all their tools, fly fast, and not configure early!
Since we’re on the topic, there are some situations that you’d want to go from Flap 1 to Flap 3, avoiding Flap 2 altogether, and guess what, that’s perfectly acceptable too.
I bet you enjoy dragging the gear with high-power settings when ATC asks for an approach speed below Flap 3 green dot.

I know J Harb and it's not surprising he made an ill informed rant. I also know Marlon and what Harb doesn't know is that he didn't just fly his line and complain about everything. He did what he needed to get in front of the right people and make a good impression. He went out and got the job and is now enjoying the fruits of his labor. If you want it go get it don't sit around and wait for it to fall in your lap, lest you want to end up like Jason.
Yeah, anybody who knows this toolbag and has spent more than 5 seconds in his presence knows exactly why he’ll never get a call from mainline and subsequently be fired if he ever did make it there. Real piece of work this one......

Congratulations. Everybody is a better pilot than everybody else.
As long as you ACTUALLY FOLLOW THE CHECKLIST, I don't care what your technique is.

Amen to that, brother! I always tell my FOs "on your leg, it's your leg. Fly the airplane how you want. I'm here if you want advice or things begin to become unsafe." Always show up to work looking for something new to learn. Worked well for me at my last shop and I keep that attitude here, too.

Sometimes they're just new and flying with a lot of reserve FO's and then get someone experienced and it's hard to remember not to help as much. All I'm saying is give them the benefit of the doubt..
I do give the new CAs the benefit of the doubt. I’m referring to older ones. You know, the ones nobody likes to fly with.
