What’s unprofessional about joking with your peers ? Explain because I’m confused. Neither of us is DL and clearly they are professional in their eyes hence they are there. You don’t see anything unprofessional about the post I made a rant about ? Because you’ve said nothing about that. So it leads me to believe either you’re him, his friend, or you agree and share the same views.
As for the other person, what he did was in poor taste too. But it is worth discussing what makes a qualified candidate vs a competitive one.
Pretty much everyone here meets the minimums for a legacy job. How can anyone take a pilot recruiter seriously when they say become LCA, get more PIC etc when that's obviously not required?
Whether you like how the guy brought up the subject or not, he makes a valid point.

I'm glad someone who actually knows how to fly the plane finally put out an FOSA to address the Flaps 4 nonsense. I'll go back to silently judging anyone who calls "Flaps 4" on an approach, until the AOM is finally corrected.

Once again, he's correct in all he said regarding RAH and why they had multiple certificates.

Nobody can sit back and tell me a 23 year old "worked hard" and "earned it". But it isn't their fault either and it's pretty douchey to call them out. It's just a broken system. Good for them that they are the recipients, but don't go bragging about how you will always be senior to me like you did something to deserve it because I'm older. There are 30 year olds getting the call that really didn't do much to deserve it, either.
And let's be real, look at the course catalog for this degree:
http://catalog.fit.edu/preview_progr...4&returnto=138
"Aviation Career Planning 101". What a tough degree... go earn your ratings (with in house certification, not even FAA checkrides...) and get a degree out of the deal. Tell me that's more qualified than someone with a masters degree in an actual academic science, who volunteers with lots of organizations and does stuff for the company, etc, and oh yeah has experience flying left seat at this company and keeps a positive attitude the whole time. Those are the people that ought to be getting called first, sorry, and I don't mean myself. If you're complaining on twitter or forums about your sour life though, there's some introspection required as to why you're not getting called, tho, that's another story altogether..

I read the posts and I was embarassed, but they're 23, what do you honestly expect? Clearly that's what DL wants. But you just aren't mature yet at age 23, you still have a developing brain, period.

In regards to being embarrassed thats how you felt and no one can change that but I personally don’t see the issue. Clearly they have a friendship where they joke with each other it’s not like he came out and said that to a random person or to someone he wasn’t close with. So many nice things were said but we pick out two lines and throw it out there without the whole story when clearly he was laughing about it. It’s humor geared toward each other in my eyes and neither had an issue with it. Im way more embarrassed at the person who decided to screenshot their picture and go on twitter to vent about them I agree it’s pretty douchey

Anyone else see what’s wrong here ? You sir are the perfect example of what we need less of in this industry. It’s your attitude why you’ll probably be a lifer. Fellow CPZ pilots please let’s not be like this attention seeking gentleman. Those young guys got to mainline because they are two hard working youngsters with good attitudes who benefited from good timing in this industry. I’m happy for them even though I’m way older and been flying longer than both. I have even asked the former CPZ one who I know for advice because I want to be like them. Maybe you should too. I thought I was done with forums but when someone sent me this today I opened a new account just for you to show our pilot group your true colors. I hope this post you made helps you to land the mainline Job you so desire
P.S. get your facts right they were both FOs for 2 years and also you’re a hypocrite for making screenshots from his FB page if I was him I’d delete you.
End of Rant

I am not surprised this guy would go online and do this. Did a few legs with him in SEA and the arrogance and entitlement really amazed me. Definitely a ‘know it all’ and really didn’t know as much as he thought. I would share personal stories but then I would be no better than him.
Do I think I should have been called first because I have more hours/experience than them ? Yes! Am I a major airline? No! So I have to be patient. Maybe I’m not what they are looking for or I’m doing something wrong. But I am happy for them because I wish it was me. I wish the industry was doing this well when I was their age. Being a sour grape won’t help this is not the first time it will happen and it won’t be the last.

I know J Harb and it's not surprising he made an ill informed rant. I also know Marlon and what Harb doesn't know is that he didn't just fly his line and complain about everything. He did what he needed to get in front of the right people and make a good impression. He went out and got the job and is now enjoying the fruits of his labor. If you want it go get it don't sit around and wait for it to fall in your lap, lest you want to end up like Jason.
