Are we really getting sensitive over jokes made at the expense of an interstate drug trafficker ? Get over it

I was just gonna say, the same people were making fun of FAs being over sensitive towards AO. Now we can't notice the hilarity that one of our own was smuggling drugs? Come on dudes, chill out.

We? No, actually I think it's just me. Well maybe Pancho and Saturn too. Basically it comes down to this for me: I care about the people I fly with, especially those whom I consider friends at Compass. I knew this guy, not well, but he was a friend just like some of you. I know he has a family with small kids, I know which major airline he always talked about going to one day and all the reasons why. I am really bummed he jeopardized all of that and now his family will suffer for years to come. If any of you good moral people made a terribly bad decision too, I would not laugh about it and congratulate whoever was junior to you. My first thought would not be the reputation of Compass in Bradford County, PA. I would just be pretty bummed for you and your family. Maybe that's being overly sensitive, I dont know, I just said what I said. I will get over it though, don't worry. Like I said, you're all still my homies. It's all good.

I appreciate your kindness and empathy and it shows the individual that you are. But when someone does something like this they demonstrate a complete lack of care for themselves and said family you speak of. In addition one will recall the now famous JetBlue FA that attempted to smuggle Cocaine thru TSA and our reactions to that.
For me it’s nit about Compass it’s not one bad choice I can assure you he has probably done this numerous times and this is when he got caught. This is about what this does to one of the most critical things we have and that’s our brand as pilots to the general public. In the 121 world we end up being high profile ambassadors for our profession and I can assure you this will not help our standing as we attempt to negotiate career progression agreements higher up the food chain.

Yeah I agree with everything you said. It's hard for me to believe he was living some double life, but none of us know for sure what his history was with this. I do know he had gone through additional background checks as a pilot if you catch my drift.
The way he looked forward to the majors... I don't know, it doesn't add up that he would throw it all away for 10k. I could be in denial, that's possible. I mean, we're all on the verge of going to the majors and making a whole lot more than 10k. Plus, you gotta know you will get caught one day if you participate in drug smuggling. Like, really? You think it won't happen to you? I'm just in shock still, I guess.
There was that one United captain that got busted for operating a huge prostitution complex thing in Texas. I thought then, really you don't make enough as a United captain??? Greed can make people do irrational things.

Due to recent events I have a much different view on it. He was stupid and destroyed his and his family's lives by choice out of pure greed, plain and simple.
On the other hand, something that is tragic and I feel terrible about for those involved, is the recent Apache crash at NTC that killed both pilots who happened to be from Fort Carson - where I am until I get to Compass. They didn't choose to be felons for money, they were serving their country and were part of something bigger than themselves. But due to these events, a lot of lives were destroyed and won't be the same. Hate to see news like this, right now I'm just hoping I don't recognize the names when they come out.

Just watched American Made last night because of this, maybe he got inspired too.
