Sorry you were irked. If it makes you feel any better, he wasn't a felon when we flew together. I don't ask people's criminal history on leg 1 to see if I can like flying with them. Can you imagine? "So.. what did you do before compass? Any felonies?..."

I'll say it again, he was one of my favorite guys to fly with, I'm so shocked that he got himself involved with this and pretty bummed about it. But, I would still be his friend. Someone's mistakes don't dictate to me whether or not I would be their friend. I don't like the jokes coming from you guys, but I agree that he will have to face the consequences. It's just that its more sad to me than funny.

Chances are he was running drugs then too,you don't just wake up one morning and move 200# of weed across the country on your first gig..sure he may have been a great guy,but there's that whole "of good moral character" thing that goes with being an Airline Transport Pilot

I've talked with this guy from jet bridges, but didn't know him personally. Its not funny funny to me at all. If a pilot overdosed on drugs/alcohol would you all be so "hey he made bad choices, we can laugh about it"? This guy made a boneheaded decision, gambled making easy $$ with the risk of what just happened. Clearly a stupid choice. He gets to suffer, and his family gets their lives forever devastated. What a terrible and sad situation for one of our OWN brothers to have fallen into. Nothing less classy than to parade this around as a boon for your seniority.

Kinda hard to prove innocent when the evidence was with him. Kind of hard to hide 200lbs of MJ in a smaller plane and say you didn’t know it was there.

Probably best to just let this topic die and move on to something else. Yeah he f*cked up,but Robert Lee who has Swagger is right,he does have a family that quite possibly could be reading this..
