Um. Because the original author didn't say it was an operational issue. Basically said just the opposite if he/she asked to talk to the on duty CP.

Here’s a tip for talking to scheduling and dispatch when you want to get transferred to a CP or MX. (People weren’t explaining their issue to DX before). Why don’t you say something phrased like:
“Hey I’ve got blah blah going on and need to be transferred to blah blah”
Rather than “hey transfer me to CP, transfer me to MX”
Has been working quite well for me, even if I know they won’t understand the issue at least give a brief overview.

Wow...look at the number of available SEA CA rsv in the award next month, gotta be interesting!
Why don't we have a direct line to the duty CP ? Or do we actually have one and I just don't know about it?

Thank you sMFer for not making assumptions. Kudos to BobbyLeeSwagger as well.
A bunch of you all are making assumptions and trying to flex your knowledge on others when it’s not applicable.

If you read his second scenario again he/she implies it’s an operational issue by saying the airplane isn’t going to move unless they can speak to the right person. Leads me to believe the dispatcher needs to be involved not CS

This has always worked for me. I give a very brief yet complex synopsis of what is going on that way it confuses the other person on the line and they always transfer me to the right person ie. Chief Pilot or CS Supervisor. 90% of the time it works every time
