To throw the Devils advocate out there, I could see why we didnt touch into SLC. Space is a huge premium there too, with Delta and OO being the two powerhouses. I used to fly a CJ out there, and if I remember right, there wasnt much availability for any expansion whatsoever. Meaning, where would we get the hangar space, facilities, etc?

Phoenix isn't all that bad at all, plenty of open space, and a LOT of people have touched on that its relatively cheap. If you can stand the summers, Phoenix is an amazing place. Although, I do admit I am partially biased

Except there's that whole operational logistics thing...14 SLC departures a day,PHX...5? 6? For the PHX guys (and gals) it's a great base,for running an airline,not so much. Should have just gone with John Wayne like that one stewardess suggested.

PHX offers MX workspace and guaranteed overnights, which SLC lacks. Plus, PHX has more AC movements to ship crews and parts.

We actually have very few parts in Phoenix comparably speaking. Most parts are in LAX SJC MEM or MSP. The specialized stuff comes from Embraer out of FLL usually
