Same here. Was told "oh, I have to read some stuff off a script for you!".
Seems like they are still working out how to get the hotels arranged. Should be interesting.
Edit: as far as making 40k here at CPZ with the new pay rate...doubtful. Training is currently around 3.5 months. So you're going to try and make 40k in 8.5 months? That's a bit of a stretch guys.

You should see it as when you start on reserve, not when you start training. Some regionals, like Skywest, only give you a 65 hour min guarantee during training.
So in essence, if you make Day 1 on reserve your 1st day of actual "line pay", you'll actually end up making way more than 40k, cause you'll have 3.5 months of Year 2 mixed in there.
Whatever they pay you during regional airline new hire training is a joke, it's not even enough to cover food while you're away!

What's causing training to be 3.5 months long?
Where are they sending the new hire for the sim?
What's the pay during training?
Thanks

You're right. But it's not paid guarantee from the start. My point is that for several months you're not going to get "90 to 95" hours of credit at $35.81, so making $40k in your first year is all but impossible.

Overall the moral/working conditions at at Compass are much better than the other regional airlines I've been at (Pinnacle and Republic). Personally I believe there is some added value to that.
My 2 cents.

Gotcha. I did some math just now and you can get very close even with a month or two of reserve.

But like you said, pay isn't everything. #isurvivedRAHtoo

Coming to Compass over Endeavor in 2013-spring 2015 was a no brainer, but I would choose Endeavor over Compass, outside of living on the west coast, if I were starting out right now. The flow attrition at Compass is over and Endeavor is only starting to pick up their flow (pilots who already passed the interview) in the coming years. On top of that Endeavor pays all their payscales $20K/year extra, so you do the math, $20K/year or $60K extra for 3 more years, or $10-15K extra for the next 3 years?
Plus, Endeavor is negotiating for extra contractual improvements with Delta right now that will probably sweeten the pot even more.
Point being, this isn't the low pay, airplane parking Endeavor and Compass growing and flowing scenario we had 2 years ago. Up until this summer I thought Compass was the better choice, now I would give a hard look to Endeavor first.
