Probably in a few months when they "figure it out" or work out the "mechanics" of it all out. But hey, they get to announce it to all the new hires!!! And wasn't that the goal of negotiations, help the company out? Oh wait... there is that extra day of vacation - I actually am impressed by that settlement.

The email said the first year pay rate increase was effective November 1, 2015. The advance check was just cut a few days ago. That must mean back pay. If so, I wonder when we'll see that.

I was wondering about that too....and trying to figure out if that may have been a typo meant to say Dec 1st - because they didn't mention anything about back pay in the email. Weird to leave it open ended...

Yeah. A typo. They meant to say effective November 1 2016 when you start second year pay

Also, there is a little note saying if you received a hiring bonus you will not receive the higher FO pay rate. Unless you decide to opt out of the bonus.

That is so people can decide whether they want to bet they will make more than the 10k with the new rate, or take the guaranteed money. It is also a bet as to whether the person will be at another airline within 12 months or not. If someone feels they will leave Compass in under 12 months, they might take the higher pay vs the bonus which they would have to pay back. Even if the new pay is less than 10k more over the course of a year, should that person leave, they are not indebted to the company.
