I would argue with you that you should get it on any type of reserve, but since it says flight duty, I have a feeling if they decide to not give it to you during a 30 hour layover, you maybe out of luck.
The language should have read that you get holiday pay for any holiday that falls in a trip or that you aren't on rest.

Where do you see the credit? Is it the "HOL" 1 minute of duty that week?

Interesting. Is this something we fixed in the new CBA language? I think I got it on reserve. Per the reference earlier to '...a Pilot who is assigned to and performs Flight Duty or Reserve Duty...", I then referred to the definition on CBA 2-18 of "Reserve",
UUU. “Reserve” means a non-flying availability period assigned to a Reserve or Build-Up Pilot. Reserve duty will be classified Reserve Duty or Ready Reserve.
I'm lead to think that we should get it. But that's just my 10 second opinion while watching football

I think you guys have it wrong about getting 4 hours of holiday pay for 30 hour layovers and possibly sitting non-airport reserve. The contract says performing flight duty or reserve duty on the holiday. I thought the reserve that counted as reserve duty in this case was ready reserve and since a 30 hour layover doesn't include flight duty, you don't get it in that case either. I've only heard from pilots with 30 hour layovers and regular reserve duty did not get the holiday pay.
Here is the language from the contract...
Holiday Pay
A Pilot who is assigned to and performs Flight duty or Reserve duty on New Year’s Day, Easter Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day shall receive four (4) hours of pay in addition to any other Pay Time, including any guarantee pay (e.g., monthly line guarantee, BSTG).

That's why I said earlier that the language is confusing. You are reading too much into the "flight duty" part. All it's supposed to mean is if you have something on your schedule (other than day off) you get 4 hour holiday pay. It should have been specified that way. Instead it says flight duty or reserve duty - (sloppy in my opinion). Nevertheless, I just had the exact same situation over this Thanksgiving and I got both, the 4 hour credit for the sit and 4 hours for the holiday. If anyone doesn't get paid that way, you should grieve it.

Contract police is out in full force once again. Guys are getting paid for "anything on their schedule" and that's it. The end. I got paid holiday pay for sitting in a hotel all day thanksgiving and Christmas last year and it sounds like that's happening again this year. Sounds like the company is following the correct interpretation in this case. The Crew pay roll dept sees this happening... I'm sure they would have done something about it by now if they thought otherwise. Maybe you're wrong this time 404.
