Any of you guys surfers? If the Compass junior base is LAX, i'm considering applying mainly to live somewhere i can surf on days off. I'm from the east coast and not very familiar with L.A. Is it possible to survive on 1st year pay? Cheap beach shacks to rent? Would it be worth it? Compass seems like on of the more respectable regionals from what I've gathered.

Alright here we go...
Where in the CBA (contract) is the language about the '4 hour of credit for a calendar day away from base for which no duty is assigned'. I see LOA 2014-06. But that's the language about ADTG and we're past that. I want to know the legal language and source of said language.
If you're going to chime in 'ADTG guys', please keep in mind that we are past the ADTG vote, I just want to see the language.
Thanks

Don't respond to FAAGoldSealCFI, if you look at his other posts it's reaaallly clearly just a troll account that was created. Somebody is bored on the internet.
Fpmx, they sent me my travel info when they scheduled my interview. Pos space and actually not even on Delta. If you didn't get it, I would shoot them a quick email.

Don't we still get 4 hours min pay for a day worked even if we don't block 4.0?

Example...3 leg last day and you dropped or traded the last two legs. You would only get block or better on the leg you flew.
No idea if that applies to your situation.

Judging by one of my trips, this is true. Dropped a turn and I'm only getting paid 3:23

We were always getting '4 hours of pay for a calendar day away from base for which no duty is assigned' however, when we were finalizing the contract the company decided it was pay only, and not pay and credit.
We fought them to arbitration (per LOA 2014-01) and instead of leading it in the hands of the arbitrator, we settled with the company to guarantee we would get '4 hours of pay and credit for a calendar day away from base for which no duty is assigned' after a 6 month trial period with the ADTG (per 2014-06).
Why did we agree to the 6 month trial? Because the company said it could take a while to program PBS to reflect the change appropriately. Now whether or not that would take months, we still wanted the extra credit reflected immediately. That is why the ADTG came to be, as a way for us to capture more credit from the start of that agreement.
There is nothing to help you with FAI unless we amend the rules to state something along the line of 'any flight blocking in before 0200' or 'an extra 4:00 of pay and credit for every less duty periods than the calendar days the trip operates on'. Or the company can agree to give you the 4:00 of pay and credit, but I don't think they will just go for that with the language in our contract.
You could see 3 day trips to FAI worth as little as 8:00 or a turn worth 7:00. With the ADTG, the minimum the 3 day would have paid would have been 14:15 and 9:30 with a turn since it would touch 2 days. I fully expect people to come on here and rail on me for saying so, but it is the truth. The ADTG is over, but that is what we agreed to go away from with going to the option we currently have.
Just food for thought in future negotiations.
It seems to be a gentleman's agreement with the company. I remember them just publishing the vote online if you wanted ADTG or 4 hour calendar day pay. Obviously the contract still says 4 hours of pay for a duty period and the LOA about ADTG. But, no, I haven't seen any actual language on the 4 hour calendar day pay.
