The email only talked about how to obtain them, not any specifics about them, besides that the process is not as automated as Delta net. . Am I missing something?

The info we got at TSA was you had to list at least 3 business days prior on myIDtravel and pay a segment fee of "$5-$50." That website doesn't show loads only smiley faces and 3 BUSINESS days (up to 5 real days) is way too much lead time to get an accurate idea of loads using a vague emoticon indicator.

Yeah, the process seems a bit more drawn out, but I think the $5-$50 is what your parents pay as part of the yield fare, which is just like Delta. You and your spouse/kids don't pay any segment fees. I think it's a good addon for international flying.

It would be nice if they mentioned boarding priority on AE flights operated by Compass. I'm sure it's just above buddy passes. No thanks.

AA passes aren't the best. Will go below all AA and Eagle people. Including retirees and buddy passes. And since we are not wholly owned we can't go on the employee website or SABRE to see loads. The New AA screws another work group.

So is there any point in even setting them up? Can we add a travel companion now? It isn't very clear. I'd like to add my gf.

You can yes, $75 for you, $50 for her, but they're pro-rating it till the end of '15 so it ends up being $30-$40 for both.

You guys know there's a Compass ALPA board to have discussions on, right?

There aren't any internet bullies and you'll actually get accurate information from the people that know the truth. (ALPA volunteers usually aren't very active on APC...or at least they shouldn't be) Plus, you won't get Chief Pilots trolling because they're not supposed to be allowed on the board.

Also, for those of you that want to volunteer, it could open a line of communication.

Most specifically, you have to make a listing in MYIDTRAVEL, get a confirmation email, then forward that email to someone at TSH and they will take a minimum of 3 days to approve it!
Oh... And don't forget to include all your credit card information in that email so they can bill you for any possible fees.
Why don't I just hand them the keys to the candy store while I'm at it.
AA flight benefits = unusable
