Good to know, thanks!
I've been reading that Delta as a result of the rejected TA, is going to excercise 175 options apparently 30 of them. This is obviously pure speculation at this point, and most likely a negotiation tactic but have there been any rumblings at Compass? I know you guys are crazy busy as it is...but I have to ask.

Based on our current performance I doubt they want to give them to us...but who knows

I've not been on the line for long but every delay I've encountered has been either station or gate related. I think DL finally realized that after they started the LAX-SFO shuttle and expanding the mainline flying out of LAX. Not to mention runway construction in LAX for what, the next two years?

The TA was just a way for Delta to replace more of their aging 50 seat jets with more efficient 76 seat jets, since they are almost to the current cap (30 away). Now, their options are to refurbish the 50 seat aircraft and try to staff them at the regional level, or transition the flying to mainline.

A captain told me a while back that our performance is so bad that it is below contractual standards with Delta. I know LAX brings down our entire operation but damn.
My buddy at OO is a fan of telling me that if their new pay package goes through they will get Delta 175 flying so I highly doubt we will see new Delta flying.

The new pay package at Skywest is the same mold as what Compass is doing by giving $10K bonus to new hires only. It only compensates new pilots more while not giving anything to the current pilots. So, in a way you should tell your buddy Compass is already doing that, even though it is against the contract. Not sure why the Skywest pilots would want to vote that in though.

Before everyone gets worked up about additional aircraft, maybe we should stop and think about why the Delta Pilots are rejecting their TA. Whatever their reason for rejection, standing is support of an ALPA Pilot is the preferred side, not the side that punishes the ALPA Pilot group for standing up for improving the industries standards. I personally don't want to be a part of the whipsaw that might affect a mianline partner, especially one who has offered a flow thru program. You might win a battle, but when you **** off a mineline pilot group, you will definitely not win the war.

So you are ok with whipsawing another regional as long it's no mainline.

The LAX flying itself shouldn't affect the Delta-Compass agreement. The only thing that affects their agreement is the controllable completion factor which is due to Compass staffing their company appropriately. That's how Delta and United kicked Mesa to the curb a few years back and is probably what is happening over at Republic.
