Does anyone know for sure if Compass will count 135 PIC time for upgrade or do they just require 1000 hours of 121?
Been in private/charter my whole career and considering the airlines. Anyone else made that change? Have a fairly secure gig but being on call all the time does get old so thinking a change in scenery and a new challenge might be a good thing. Thanks for any input!

A strangely constructed sentence in the reg, so I see how it could be misinterpreted. Maybe I am misinterpreting it. Oh well. Just nerding out on some FARs!

You block in at 1146 and duty off at 1201 on the 10th. It's the company's way of avoiding the 4 hour calendar day. All you have to do is make sure you block in before 1145 and you should get the 4 hours of calendar day pay. I'd give scheduling a call right after you block in to remind them as well.

Isn't it based on scheduled time?
This is an obvious abuse of "day with no duty scheduled" by having us scheduled to duty in at 00:01.

Section 135.243(a)(1) operations
JB, based on FAA May 7, 2015 memo below, your interpretation "It's turbojet, OR a plane of 10+ pax" is correct.
from FAA Memo dated May 7, 2015 that provides corrective information to FAA letter dated March 7, 2014:
Accordingly, this memorandum confirms that§ 135.243(a)(1) requires a PIC to hold an airline transport pilot cetiificate for the following passenger-carrying operations conducted in accordance with part 135: (1) operations using a turbojet airplane; (2) operations using an airplane having a passenger-seat configuration, excluding each crewmember seat, of 10 seats or more; and (3) operations using a multiengine airplane in a commuter operation as defined in pati 119 of Chapter 1, ofTitle 14.

March 7, 2014 FAA letter (corrected by memo above):
Section 135.243(a)(1) operations are passenger carrying operations using a turbojet with a passenger-seat configuration of 10 seats or more,or using a multiengine airplane in a commuter operation for which the PIC must hold an A TP with appropriate category and class ratings and, if required, an appropriate type rating.

I think, though don't quote me, that we are officially done with Jepps on July 15th. Other than that I didn't hear anything of interest. Just the usual performance is terrible lets all work to fix it.

Operational issues, not staffing. LAX is a nightmare, gates never open. You will land 15 early and block in 20 late. SFO always had EDTCs. Lots of MX issues lately. The list goes on. I don't think staffing has become a major issue quite yet although they have been offering critical pay and raising our minimum line values often
