If we are switching to electronic jepps, I am going to be ecstatic. The product Jepp has is so much better.
The lido's have bothered me ever since I layed my eyes on them. The Ground charts are nice, having multiple departures on one graphical printed to scale is cool. But the typos/incorrect info on the approach charts, increased violations and asaps due to the lidos, have made me forever dislike them. I hate having to re read the charts every time just to double check the LIDO products accuracy.
Electronic Jeppesen charts are industry standard, as well as the best product available. We should keep it that way.

I heard from a LCA in LAX that LIDO was 500% cheaper than Jepps and we all know TSH loves to save a dollar. I'm pretty used to the LIDO now. Just wish somethings like speed restrictions at a fix were in bold print and put a single departure per page.

How many months has the company set itself back by having to pay for both?

I would not count on changing to electronic Jepps. From what I've heard from a reliable source, the LIDO product is here to stay. Simply the price Jeppesen quoted was so much higher that we'll never see them. Compass apparently has a designated LIDO person now who's here to "ease" the transition, the FAA approval, and correct the mistakes. I also heard that the final approval is nowhere in sight, meaning - get used to the fact that we will be carrying the flight cases for a while. Honestly, I don't care what we use, I just wanna stop carrying this stupid flight case that I haven't opened for months, except to do the manual revision every 2 weeks! I actually got used to the LIDOs already. (Not a big deal, the same info in a different form.) I just hope there isn't a group of pilots who try to "sabotage" the LIDOs by submitting countless crew reports hoping that TransStates will at the end give up and give us Jepps. That's not gonna happen in my opinion, just prolong already endless certification process.

Um. No. The Jepp quote was $1.2 mil and Lidos are $300k for a year. 4 times.

100% discount (cheaper) of any number is zero. You can't do any better than that.
Now back to watching 404xyz in the Delta TA threads. He's actually making some sense over there!
