I am curious how much a first year FO might expect to bring home each month, and how commutable the Seattle lines are? I would be commuting from Anchorage.

If I want a mid-late Aug upgrade class should I put in for the next one? It seems like the current august bid has July class dates. I still need 160. I'm getting 95+ this month and have already bypassed.

My suggestion would be to not bid to upgrade until you're qualified.

#1) You won't have that embarrassing event that has happend so often already where you have to call Crew Planning and tell them you messed up.

#2) It's what you're supposed to do.

#3) You can still learn in the right seat. You don't want to be too over eager to upgrade, and not be ready. Not saying you're not ready, but from what I've seen lately...a couple extra months in the right seat could help a number of our guys.

You guys think the fast upgrade has come and gone? Has a June new hire missed it, now it'll take 3 years to upgrade? Thoughts?

Its hard to gauge the SEA lines right now since we only have one bid to go off of. The July bid should be out on the 10th. But I still think it will be a few months before the dust settles.

Thanks. That is kind of what I was figuring. Still trying to decide if I should make the jump

By the time you would finish training I'm sure they will be just fine, especially with so many flights between ANC and SEA

Waiting will just make the decision of making the jump worse. If you have the upgrade time, you are on the tail end of the benefit. Waiting longer won't improve that benefit.

I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death but thought I'd ask anyways...I have an interview this week with Compass and wondering what it looks like for a guy with enough of 121 to upgrade? Any guess at how long it may take? How long to hold MSP as a FO or CA? What is pay during training like?

Thanks for any insight you can offer. Tough decisions to make. Have 2 little ones at home I still need to cloth and feed.

Thanks again for any insight....
