Hey guys I posted a few weeks back, and I now have a class date in about a week. Coming from another 121 regional with a little under the 1,000 SIC 121. There seems to be a little bit discrepancy between how quick the upgrade is going to be going this summer. Realistically if I came in now what do you think the upgrade time would be? I know thats hard to say exactly because there are people hitting the minimums each month that goes by and therefore more are becoming eligible to upgrade. Any guesses though?

I'll have to tally it up exactly but I think I got a 150 or so to go to 1,000.

edit: should have gone to last page before posting. I'd say you could probably bid it October...just for the delay getting through training.

The classes start June 1st. Meaning some on this award could be down to a month of Compass line experience. They need these captains for July. With the Compass line experience dropping for upgrades, these candidates will need more training to reach captain proficiency level.
Anyone think our staffing situation is going to get tighter?

Also, Compass hired 10 FOs per week starting in November and those guys are hitting the line. They are only taking 8 upgrades per week and they skipped 4 of the weeks between April and May. So, I don't think they're going to have the staffing problems that you foresee. Does TSH like high productivity from their CAs? YES! So get used to flying a lot as a CA - you should want to anyway... Get your time and get out!

I know it is a beer question but does anybody know why the enhanced wing tip planes have a max takeoff weight about 3.5k pounds lighter?

That is the normal MTOW for the 175. It's a scope thing. The Delta birds had their takeoff weights increased back in the NWA days. They paid some money and got a new piece of paper with the higher weight on it. The thirty-six 175s Compass has for Delta are the highest MTOW regional aircraft in the country.

Once holding a line, what is the maximum hours you can pick up for a month and is there a minimum hours you have to keep if you're trying to give trips away?

If you flew your butt off you could get 1000 in a year. Get experience in the plane, get experience in the crew environment, get experience with the operations, get experience in the environments we fly in, really concentrate on what you're seeing as an FO and what will make you a better captain because upgrade will happen fast. Don't put the cart before the horse. Do everything you can to prepare yourself to be a good captain then worry about when you can upgrade.

Im at a regional and about 500 sic time. Been here for a year and few months. Kinda getting tired of reserve now. But anyway, i will be moving to DC area next year in January. So i would either commute or join Air Wisconsin.
I have a job interview offer from Compass And have been thinking about it. Wanted to know how senior or junior MSP is and would it remain a base in forseeable future? And how easy is DC to MSP commute? Is it easy to get MSP based out of training? DTW is not a base any more if I am correct. LAX and SEA would be uncommutable!
Also, what would be approx net pay during training? An Estimated guess? Including the CBT at home?
Thank you.
