Compass knew precisely how many people were going to leave and how many people they were going to need to hire nine months ago. Airlines who know how to manage time and resources do not back themselves into a corner hoping it will all just work itself out. Also anyone who complains about being sent home paid for anything other then breaking up sims as a new hire definitely does not share the same mindset as me.

Company seems out of the loop...pilots leaving, hard to find them, then gets 20 new airframes.....
....but anyway, some what if's?
I apply now, plenty of 121, 121 PIC, more than a BA, etc.
Upgrade would/could be how long?
I could handle a LAX or SEA commute (bay area).
What happens when they catch up and upgrade senior numbers, do I go to the FO seat? (is that in the contract?)
What would the general vibe be in the ranks for a person like me if I upgraded over seniority?
I could do a few months on FO pay, but sorry, just can't pull it off for long. Captain Pay is pretty poor, but I can make it there OK.
Shared hotels in training is a bummer, likewise no pay during home study. Makes me think they are junior thinkers. That makes me nervous.

Did I say it seemed bad there? No. It is obviously a better place than most regionals, or all, regionals, otherwise I wouldn't be thinking of it. I don't need hours. I don't want to move, so the commute would work for me. Provided I upgrade quickly I would probably would not be moving onto to another carrier - in other words I think enough of the company to invest in it, provided I can make an OK living by upgrading reasonably quickly. Otherwise it isjust another regional hell hole. Sorry, I have the hours, I have paid my dues, way back. So, what does the contract say about someone like me who could maybe upgrade quickly ahead of people without the 1000 121?When things settle down would fall back into the FO seat? Thanks for the input.

Even If you started class next week it would be 1.5-2 years for you to upgrade at this point. There are already a bunch of people that have been bypassed and will have the hours before the upgrade would get to you. Compass is the only regional with JUNIOR west coast bases that I know of and SFO to LAX or SEA is an easy commute with a lot of flights. What are you flying right now? Good luck!

Can someone enlighten me on Compass's TSO policy? I have a Bose QC15 with the Uflymike, (non TSO'd at the moment).
Looking back in this thread I found people saying it does need to be TSO'd, however when I emailed Uflymike, they said according to their list of TSO Headset req'd carriers, compass isnt one of them and told me to find out before spending the extra $$$. (Great Customer service if you ask me. Talked me out of spending $$$! haha)
So before I spend 100$ to get it certified, I just want to make sure I NEED to. Thanks!
Also, just FYI for those looking at these mic adapters, the qc15 adapter is discontinued. Not sure they have any instock. But they are working on an adapter for the newer bose QC line. However, servicing and TSO updates are going to continue of course.
