SEA base opens June 1 and is slated to have 35 crews by the end of 2015. Very small compared to MSP's 80 and LAX's 190 but exciting news nonetheless.

Are all 20 of the AA planes scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2015? How can they only be planning on 610 pilot group, by the end of the year.

Did anyone notice the number of planned positions by year end? Less than what I was lead to believe. Do they still plan on hiring 40/mo?

So what the new planned position by end of the year? And how many you have now?

610 makes plenty of sense. 62 aircraft. We have always staffed around 10 per plane and we Run lean.

TN said roughly 650 at my orientation

Thanks

The goal once all aircraft are on property, I suppose if they want 610 line pilots, the extra 40 might be in non bidding positions..I heard the 650 number about 2 months ago

The number can be deceiving. 150 flow pilots will be removed from the top of the list starting April 1 through November 1, at a pace of 20 a month. 650 is their end number with non-flying pilots included. You can almost think of it as though we need to grow to 800 to account for the 150 flow pilots leaving. We probably are around 650 pilots right now (500 active) and need to hire another 150 for the flow and AA growth. After that, all hiring is for regular attrition.

To figure out where you will sit, take your current number and minus 150 for your November number. Divide that by 650 and there is your seniority % in November. 1-5 non-flow pilots will likely leave monthly, so you can probably account for that too.
