Compass' policy is to resign your number at your previous airline, as well as a training contract (last I heard). However, this place is so disorganized that you could probably stall, not sign anything, and nobody would be the wiser. That's how it went down for me. Never signed anything.

Of the six new hires in my class, the only ones required to resign their seniority numbers were previously employed with Mesaba and/or Comair. We were informed by **** **** this issue was related to the PPR Numbers given to all Delta employees as it would create a "conflict in the system." With that said, the remaining were allowed to retain their seniority numbers / recall rights with their former employers.

For those of you who received "thanks...but...no thanks..." letters from Compass, hang in there. HR and pilot recruitment are in the process of modifying their application and interview process to "better mirror Delta's." Those who have previously applied may need to reapply under the current vacancy. Hiring is said to resume in a couple of months to the end of the year. Take it for what its worth.

Oh, believe me, I couldn't agree more. I just think the comments are based on the fact that we had our stuff in with Compass during the last year before Delta announced hiring plans. I'm sure Delta would rather the very experienced candidates out there apply directly with them, if that is the applicant's ultimate goal, of which it is mine. Why would they (Delta) want highly qualified candidates who have the quals now, and are competitive now, to spend 3 or 4 years at Compass if they are good to go now? I would assume Delta would want the largest base of quality candidates possible to choose from.

That brings up another question. For those who got on with Compass and would have been otherwise competitive at Delta, are you stuck at CPZ in terms of Delta? In other words, can you apply directly to Delta now that they are presumably going to hire (and you bail from Compass), or are you stuck until your flow opportunity happens? Not that that is a bad thing, just curious. Good luck to everyone.

If you're employed with CPZ you wont get an interview with DAL. That would circumvent the flowthrough order.

I have applied to Delta directly, although I realize the level of competition will be intense. I will give it my best shot, but that's all I can do. I would have no problem going to work for Compass, or any decent regional, if that's what it takes to keep making progress in the long term. In just a few years, we will be in a vastly different employment market.

I would serve my three years of NetJets seniority to Delta on a silver platter! It's a decent company, decent pay, but not what I want to do for the next 30 years.

Has that been said anywhere officially? In other words, has it come out of the mouths of the HR or Flight Ops. departments?

HAHAA. I keep a current app on file at DAL. I haven't heard a yes or no from anyone on the CPZ -> DAL outside of the flow through officially. I have some people checking in to it. I'll let you know what I hear.

DCI pilots are given "preference" at DAL for hiring, regardless of the flow through agreements. DAL will not block Compass or Mesaba pilots from being hired at the mainline outside the flow through. They are sensitive to the legal problems with doing so.

DAL is now responsible for hiring at Compass, so they are probably throwing the old apps out, and restarting the screening process their way.

I don't believe this is correct for the companies that have flow agreements. The rules are In the contract that the pilots work under thus no legal issue. If you could get hired ouside the flow agreement it would circumvent the flow inseniority order. Guys went through this with the coex flowthroughs. You'd have to quit coex before getting hired or interview for cal.
