They're saying it should be under a year upgrade if you meet part 117 requirements but I don't know how long it will last. Depends on attrition and if they get more flying.

I didn't know rest and duty time requirements had anything to do with upgrade requirements????








Sorry to bust your chops there.....
117 is completely separate from the experience requirements for PIC and SIC in a 121 environment.

Good point. Just because the rules came out within 6 months of each other, doesn't mean they're the same rule.


And yes, most if not all new hires are lax based initially. Likely for a few months.

from now on everyone should be LAX based as a new hire due to DTW shrinking. Up until the last class guys were getting DTW and MSP.

So are people just flying out for 1 day of orientation then coming back for initial training at a later date? Just trying to figure when I should be looking for accommodations for the 3 week stay.

Yes when you got offered a date they should have given you the second date as well.
