Starting middle of January it will be 6 per week. Beginning in March it will be 8 per week with a few exceptions of 10. Upgrades continue through this time next year.

Yeah, I agree that is what has been laid out, but I think it will slow down even more when training fails to keep up with new hires and upgrades.

2015 is going to be a very chaotic year for Compass

Thanks for the update! Went to recurrent recently and was given the impression that the training dept had their plan laid out, but Trans states was going to implement training at a slower pace.

The company really screwed up when they thought the flows wouldn't start until April with the ability to hold back until June. They're already behind in hiring LCAs, upgrading and getting new hires on property.
As it stands right now, 90 day hold backs are the only thing that's keep this thing on the tracks and there is no room left in that leash.

To keep with the double negatives, I'll say this: I don't not agree with you.

Has anyone else been hearing about a new training plan for new hires that are already upgrade eligible? Apparently it involves them getting checked out in the left seat and even doing IOE from the left seat.

I don't not agree with you either Today I am thankful I am a pilot and not a writer.

What would this accomplish? Basically making them a captain qualified FO at some point like TSA?

The way the training was done in the infancy of Compass was the sim was done mostly form the left seat, took the LOE in the left seat, then did a right seat qualification in the sim. IOE was done in the right seat. When you upgraded you did CA OE in the left seat, without going back to sims. I don't know if the FAA would sign off on something like that again. Anyways the bottleneck will most likely occur at IOE, which isn't eliminated under that method anyway.

They mentioned it in new hire orientation a couple weeks ago. They didn't say what the qualifications would be. Not sure if it's upgrade mins as a new-hire or will meet upgrade mins in a year.

Chief T.N. said exactly this a few days ago. Would reduce the upgrade training footprint from a month to 5 days.
