For pay scale purposes, when do you go from year 1 to year 2? Is it the anniversary of your indoc date, or when you come back to start training, or after IOE, or something else??

Is date of hire considered the day you interview and accept the job? Only asking because for me, I interviewed in April but don't go to indoc till October, so would I only spend 6 months on year 1 pay, then bump up in April?

3-1 of the contract which is public on Compass MEC > Home
Longevity accrual for a Pilot will commence from the date a
Pilot’s new hire class begins, herein referred to as his “date
of hire” or “EDAP.”
That sounds like it is open to interpretation to me, I would put my lack of money on management interprets this to mean when you start class one month after orientation. Honestly though I don't know yet, im sure someone can chime in with their experience on it.
