Compass updates

I'm not too sure this is accurate. The recent reallignments had DTW downsize a bit and with MSP FOs bidding DTW to get hotels and per diem during upgrade, it would be difficult to predict an accurate timeframe in which a new hire could hold DTW.

Agreed not to mention latest company update included notification of a market study being done for a new West Coast base. I have a hard time believing we will have a Detroit base in a year...

SEA is a pretty good possibility, due to the amount of crews overnighting there (6-8), as far as DFW I haven't heard a peep about that base, and that's all speculation...we will know more late fall / early winter when American decides where the CZ AA flying route structure will be...until then any AA base talk is here say

Word from the Big Cheese's mouth (and I mean BIG big cheese over here, which I heard with my own two FAA approved ears) is we will know the new domicile plans by September 2014. To me, this translates to "by the end of the year."
For AA: New York, Charlotte, or DFW
For DAL (in addition to LAX): SEA or SLC
Take it how you'd like but I had a personal conversation with the Head Honcho Brochondo.

All I was doing was going off of previous experience with major hiring going on. You're right, bases are shifting. MSP and DTW have both shrunk. However, I don't think we have seen the mass movement that can potentially occur here so I think it will still be totally possible to bid DTW out of training when training kicks it back up 100%.

Ultimately yes. It wasn't a tough decision either. I compared FOM's and operating procedures and that alone was enough to sell me to leave PSA. I would have gone to CPZ right out the door but there was the wait time of two months or more and the commute. Once I was into PSA CPZ called and offered a class the next week. Should have jumped ship then but owed it to myself, my family and to PSA to give it a fair shot.
