I was hired by CPZ several months ago with a 17 July class date. Been at PSA going through ground school and now on a four week break between training. Haven't flown or had a sim ride yet.

Prior military pilot with no idea how regionals or airlines work, but it seems as if CPZ is the best with the quickest upgrades. PSA doesn't have the best reputation and CPZ hires to a much higher standard. PSA's flight deck procedures are retarded at best. Nothing like I am use to in the military. Are the flows and checklist procedures at CPZ challenge and response, streamlined with little ambiguity? If so then I can't wait.. Paying out of pocket for a hotel during training definitely sucks along with an LAX base, but all in all it appears to be a small price to pay with better long term options and a quick upgrade in a highly desirable typed plane.

I welcome all sarcasm but not preferred..

Not long. I passed on several options to start class back in June. I was tied up and not sure if I wanted to leave PSA. Since CPZ is so highly sought after, I would imagine every class being full with little or zero no-shows. Maybe a month or two at the most.

Did you ultimately decide to leave PSA? Considering a jump from ZW.

Why did you waste your time at PSA to begin with?

CPZ cockpit procedures are intuitive, a quiet cockpit (no unnecessary calls), streamlined and like you say "little ambiguity". Get over here to CPZ asap and you will NEVER look back.

With things picking up again very very soon you could probably hold DTW right out of training. Just like when I was hired a year ago, things were happing very quickly and we could hold whichever base we wanted right out of class.
