I've had my app in with compass for a very long time and would certainly appreciate any info on how you have had success obtaining an oportunity to interview. I would also like to know if they have any additional growth planned. Thanks!

For you new hires... Have any of you been asked to give up your seniority number at your furloughed carrier? Is it the "kiss of death" if you refuse? thanks.

I was not asked to give up seniority when the job offer was presented. But I am not going back to ride the bottom of Republic's list after they hash out where Midwest is going to fit in.
In Addition, I have no idea why I was called all of a sudden. I put my stuff in and a week later they called. No references. Interviewed and was offered a class date the nex day.
As far as I know there is no growth planned. The hiring is purely to cover increased utilization of aircraft and possible implications of new congresstional law. It is not due to new aircraft showing up or the rumors of a delta hire. 76 new guys will be added to the list. the first six started on the 3rd of december. Second class is on the 16th of december and then every two weeks thereafter until spring time. No additional info past that sorry.

76 newhires is 20% of the list as of last month, and total when complete would be 41% more pilots than Compass had when deliveries finished. It just seems really fishy at a company that has been content running max schedules and min days off for 2 years.

I can only tell you what I have been told myself. I know it seems like a lot of guys for a few extra hours of flying but if you take 76 guys at say 80 hours block a month. Thats around 6000 and change hours. With 36 aircraft thats only raising the hours of each aircraft by like 128 hours a month. like 5 ish hours a day? how much is an average plane flying now. The average regioanal aircrafct in this industry is in the air around 11-12 hours a day. what is compass at right now?

Me too, it seems they are taking mostly guys that are still working and not furloughed. I've had my stuff in there since August and haven't heard a peep. I've been furloughed for 6 months and I've almost lost hope getting a flying job or much less interview anytime soon. And with Netjets furloughing 500 it just isn't good. What a crappy industry I chose to be a part of. I miss flying!!

I have a interview at Compass in 10 days. I have a question about my medical.
When I filled out the online app, one of the questions was if I had a First Class medical issued in the last six months. At that time I did, but as of now I have a first class medical issued in the last 8 months. However, because of the new FAA rule change and my age, my first class medical is good for one year, not six months.
Has any one had this issue? Should I pay the $100 for a new medical just to meet the requriments of the application even though I have a perfectly valid first class medical with first class privelages?

What you stated is the company line. I personally have trouble believing it, however.

[quote=pilotmyf;726965]I have to agree....the company makes no sense at all........and there is no increased hiring of FAs (at least to match pilot hiring)[/quote
So what do you guys attribute this latest round of hiring to?
