Good to know. Thanks, I appreciate it.

I have a scenario for any of the CPZ guys, just curious what your take is on how best to proceed. I start my Active Duty terminal leave on Aug 1. Should I tell them that I can begin my month of CBT during July so that I can start in the soonest class after Aug 1, and do CBT while I am tying up a few loose ends before I get out. Or is that a bad idea, and should I wait and start CBT after Aug 1. Thanks guys.

You have to be able to show up to day 1 of orientation, but after that they don't really care what you do as long as you can get the cbt done. Don't be afraid to be open with them and let them know. If you have any other questions just PM me as I'm currently out on mil leave myself.

Right now they're taking most people with a 4 year and an ATP already done. They've taken plenty of corprate peeps in the past.

For sure, talk to them about what you need. Seriously, everyone has been great here and I'm sure they'll work with you.

If it were me, I'd try to work it out so I got into the first orientation day I could, as in tomorrow if possible, since it's what determines your seniority number, and then showing up back in class whenever works with your active duty commitment.

So, "Hey, how about I show up at the next orientation to get my number then go finish up my stuff with Uncle Sam and come back in August to start class. I promise I'll finish the CBTs between then...." and see how it goes. :-)

There's a bunch of movement, but still, the sooner you get a number the better, so don't wait until July if you can work it out.

Crazy, woutlaw, thanks for the advice. I was hoping that would be the case. The sooner I can start the process the better.

Hey folks,

New C-17 co-pilot here. Looking for work around July of this year when I come off active duty orders and become a traditional reservist. I'll have approximately 800TT 400 Heavy, 600 Turbine and 600 multi with approx 130ish PIC. I plan on attaining my limited ATP once i reach 750TT.

Based on those credentials do you think Compass would entertain the idea of interviewing me or are my hookups at Air Wisconsin my best bet?

Compass requires you to be eligible for an unrestricted ATP per our contract. So you would need 1500tt.

I don't think that is true but I can't prove it at the moment

I could certainly be wrong, however I'm pretty sure I saw it spelled out requiring 1500 TT with no exceptions.
