Oh.. i am just dandy! 1st year in a while i actually get to spend christmas with mom and dad. That is the only positive thing about this furlough. How are you!?
This economy has to give us a break at some point. If anyone is looking for work around the FL area, i have a few contacts looking for seasonal work..or "just to get by" work. You can join me and be a "pilot of the caribbean" ..
happy December

The company.
I was told before I even started that I would be provided hotel and per diem as long as I wasn't based in MSP. No one in my class was initially assigned MSP so we were all given hotel rooms. I was given space positive travel and a hotel for the interview. Then once I was hired, I was given space positive between MSP and home every weekend while in training, hotel, per diem, full benefits, and a 75 hour guarantee from day 1. Everyone else hired at NWA in 2007/2008 was given the same thing. The one bad thing I was given was a longevity date about 2 months after I started so I was on first year pay for about 14 months.

The question should be, why in the hell would they not provide a hotel for training. Even if you live in base, a hotel should be provided. Daily activities can interfere with training when you have a fire hose of information coming at you.

Well when I started at Compass they gave me a room this is just a recent thing. I'm not standing up for the company. But would you rather pay 450 for a crashpad the spend 2 months in Montreal over thanksgiving, xmas and new years. Thats what I did. We made the best of it but living up there is not cheep we were stealing cereal and milk to eat for lunch and dinner. Who knows whats in store for the future. And remember you think about the decisions airlines make your not supposed to use your brain. Thats what I do and I don't harp as much.

Maybe try to push for earlier base assignments might work for those based in dtw or mem.

If I could crank up the rumor mill, any info on the rumors of a possible LGA base with Delta increasing their operation out of there?
