Those of you getting calls: Compass' site says the application process only supports Internet Explorer 6 or better. No Apple, iPhone, Blackberry. All I have is a Mac, and I don't think I can download IE. The application process works fine for Safari, but just wondering if its getting through to them correctly. It really stinks that they can't accept Mac versions.

obx41 or anyone in the know,
At your 85 hour line. How many days off are you getting? Do you commute? Are the trips commutable? What base are you in and is quality of life any better or is there any significant differance in the line builds at DTW, MSP, or MEM?
I have never been in an airline that has PFB and am just trying to figure out how life is going to be there. Thanks for any insight.

Does your status page ever change when viewing on the co site? Pending? Being reviewed? Sorry please try again? Sorry you are not an instant winner?
Thanks

Along with that, I'd be curious to know, for those that were hired/not hired, how soon after your interview were you notified? If you weren't selected, did you still receive a phone call/email? Thanks for the help.

I was called 2 days after the interview with my class date, but that doesn't really mean everyone was.

Well obviously it changes from month to month but in MEM a 15 off 85 is not impossible but i would say the average is more like 13 - 14 for 85 hours. I do see some guys with 16 or 17 off and 76 or so block from time to time. and of course those with vacation get into the 20's sometimes.
as far as commuting their are a mix of shows from 800 , 1300, to 1800 so i guess it just depends on seniority and luck.
actually if you were willing to do all daytrips in MEM you could build 90 and 16 or 17. I did a few this month and got 90 with 15 off.

I am on first year pay. A mid seniority FO line-holder averaging about 86 hours of credit per month.
Just to give you a little perspective, I'll share with you what a paycheck looks like. My check on the 27th of every month consists of half of my monthly guarantee--37.5 hours. This check is always $645.00 net.
My check on the 13th of every month consists of the other half of guarantee plus what ever I flew above guarantee plus per diem minus health/dental benefits. I am single. This check averages $1400.00 net.
I figure that second year pay should average an additional $800.00/month net. Keep in mind that second year pay at Compass does not work like most airlines. It starts one year AFTER the first person from your class finishes IOE as opposed to most airlines where it starts one year after your date of hire. In my case, I will see my first second year check 16 months after my date of hire.
Good luck with your decision. PM me with any other questions.

The traveling public would never believe that the pilot operating their jet was making about half of minimum wage.
