toilet duck,
Lets compare our experience:
-9 yrs with 121 carriers (3 airlines)
-9000 hrs (3000 jet pic) which included 5 years as an FO
This was the average in my class!
I got hired at my first airline w/2000 hrs after flight instructing and doing thunderstorm research for 2 1/2 years out of college and I was one of the lowest time guys in my class. How much to time did you have when you got hired?
My FO on my last trip layed off United, with over 15 yrs of airline experience.
I don't know where you got your since of entitlement, but FYI the first 100 or so guys at Cpz had as much or more experience than most of all NWA's new hires. Should do a bit more research instead of basing your assumptions on a few crews you've rode in the van w/.

Has anyone bothered to ask their union rep about this? I talked to a rep who happened to be on my plane yesterday and this is not as dire as some think.
So far 26 have signed up for the early retirement with about a month to go. He is thinking there are several more who will sign up before the deadline.
He also said that looking to next summer Delta is only projected to be about 100 over staffed and that is the number they are hoping to get on the early retirement program.
With the payback on furloughs being about 18 months I don't think you will be seeing any if the early retirement program draws close to 100.
