I know everyone NEEDS a job, but fellas, there are better and bigger things to be doing then to slave away with ABSOLUTLY NO end in sight, remember your dignity, self respect and and WORTH. If you choose to do the job you determine your worth and all of the above at the rate the are willing to give. Please remember its basic economics... As long as you line up to take the job, why should ANYTHING improve?

Just an observation from a guy who was among you and now isnt, by choice. Best move I ever made and I truly hope you can say that as well one day regardless of your career paths.

You all are hard working professionals and deserve better. Start asking for what you deserve and dont settle for less.

Good luck to all.
I am only in this line because the line to be a the heir to a fortune 50 company was to long, and I have more than 10 items.

Get real.

It's 2009 and this is aviation.

If you weren't offered whatever position you are currently at, you'd still be there.

And if you were: would you be helping to make things better, or would you just be spending a four-day complaining?

That 1000 hour multi requirement is a real *****. Considering the 175 flys itself and it's not an ATP requirement. Is that still part of the street CA mins or is that for the FOs as well?

Compass gives full PIC type ratings to all newhires with only limitation being the circling. That might have something to do with it.

The problem isn't with the people who take the job. It's with the people who agree to the contracts. They are the ones that determine what pay and work rules will be, not people taking the job. The only way your argument applies is if the company is just starting up. If you are looking to blame someone for the compass contract, it's NWA pilots. They agreed to it. Here's the really sad part is that it's actually worse than their bankruptcy contract.

I'm on the street and out of currency. i would love a flying job. But... $24.00/hr?? PBS?? Training contract?? Having to fund your own hotel in MSP?? Gimme a break!! Oh yeah, and probably a long time in the right seat. They'll get plenty of applicants though. Good luck to you guys.

Everything you say here is completely true. It is gonna be really hard and expensive to make it though all of that in the beginning. And yes someone hired now would be on reserve for quite a while and in the right seat a long time.

All of us are looking and praying that they wake up to see we need a whole lot more pilots than 12. This will basically cover attrition. They have already admitted that we are giving flying away which is never good to hear in this world.

All in all best of luck if you want the job!

"preffered minimums" are 2500TT, 1000ME, 500 121 PIC and something tells me they still arent going to have a shortage of applications

I don't think they are going to hire a high time pilot to be honest. He/she will split the second the industry turns around. There looking for SJSr's
