Compass Airline intel?

I know if you look in the search you will find more info but basically you watch a lot of video on the computer and take quite a few tests after watching them. All from your home computer. Oh and yes it takes longer than they say so don't wait till the last week to start it unless you really enjoy cramming.

One word of advice for those coming to Compass--
Try not to judge the company by how they run their HR department. It's an abortion of an operation run by an incompetent shrew. Between your interview, medical, and newhire class they are almost guaranteed to screw something up. I think they're still unaware that I never had a medical (hired over a year ago). Similarly, the training department leaves a lot to be desired. You'll be sitting in Montreal shaking your head in utter disbelief, wondering "What the he11 have I got myself into?" This especially goes for those without 121 experience, because Compass' approach to training is basically to say "OK we do things just like your last company except a, b, and c...and the E175 is just like the CRJ except x, y, and z." Fortunately your experience will change when you get out on the line, we have a very good group of check airmen that do a great job getting everyone squared away in short order...and things on the line generally work much, much better than they do in the interviewing, hiring, and training process.

All this is absolutely true. I have enjoyed virtually everyone I have worked with...including most of the FA's ...I know it sounds crazy but it is true.
I was however very frustrated by the time I left YUL....I think its a combo of putting up with crap and being away from home for so long.

I stopped and thought about it and I would say over the last year most of the F.O's I have flown with have had between 4K - 6K hours. The lowest I can remeber was about 2500 and the most was 11,000.
I'm sure you have read it before but the most important thing is not your hours...Its your attitude here. Good Luck.

What gives?
I applied to Compass and today received the standard form letter saying my qualifications are exceptional but they have decided to pursue other candidates. My times are:
6100 Total
4800 Multiengine
4200 Turbine
4000 121 Experience
So what gives?

I have to agree with Extreme. If you meet the minimums it is all based on attitude. I haven't broken the code but, the retired NWA pilots doing the interviews have done an excellent job. I've only been flying the line a couple of months and have truly enjoyed everyone I have flown with.

I'm starting to even doubt you hold any certificates at all. Why would you pretend you work for an airline.....
Any Mesaba guys know this guy/ gal. Can we even verify authenticity....I know most wouldn't want to claim him, just wondering if he is in fact a WORKING pilot.

Same thing happened to me...
6900 total
1500 PIC
5280 SIC
5545 Part 121
5756 Multi eng
5545 Jet
2 type ratings
Received the "impressive but, no thanks" letter too. I'm about to be furloughed from a major and one of the questions on the online app was "are you willing to relinquish your seniority from any other airline" Since I'll have recall rights I said, "no". Don't know how much that weighed on their decision, but oh well. I was just being honest.
