JetMonkey,
I'm sure the no answer is what turned you down. There have been several asked in the interview if they would resign their number and then they were never asked to do it.

Received the "impressive but, no thanks" letter too. I'm about to be furloughed from a major and one of the questions on the online app was "are you willing to relinquish your seniority from any other airline" Since I'll have recall rights I said, "no". Don't know how much that weighed on their decision, but oh well. I was just being honest.
Well now you know what honesty gets you now days. Also, before all the swords are drawn, we all know honesty is directly contributed to integrity. Perhaps the "do whats right, even when no one is looking" philosophy. I commend you for telling you the truth, and I wish that Compass would look at this attribute in the same way. I like to think I have personal integrity, but when I read stories like this it makes me doubt the "honesty is the best policy" mantra.

Good luck in the future.

Honesty is respectable, but why would Compass want to hire someone who by refusing to give up a number basically said, "I need a job and you are the only one hiring, but I plan on leaving as soon as my better company calls me back" ?

First off, please do a search on Compass and you'll find alot of infomation.

CPS does have a training contract that is 12K if you leave in the first year, prorated at 1K per month over the first year. The training contract is in the CBA, so you don't actually sign anything, but you agree to it since it's in the ALPA CBA. 1 year goes by pretty quickly, imho.

The seniority list in stagnant right now, but I think you'll see some swift movement over the next 2 years. I don't believe the new DAL will furlough and in about 1 year, the first batch of CPS guys can flow. The flow will have 100 CPS guys leave per year (assuming everyone takes it). The new DAL can get 18 more 76 seat aircraft.

There is some rumor/discussion on NWA fighting for seniority numbers for CPS pilots, but don't hold your breath.

A great company to work for. Pay and work rules leave alot to be desired, but thank the NWA MEC or count your luck stars you have an airline job, whichever camp you want to associate with.

Best of Luck.

I turned my stuff into Compass two weeks ago. Received an e-mail saying they wanted a resume and cover letter and to fill it out on the compass website. I meet and surpass all their requirements. Do I call them to check up on the status of my application so they know I am interested even though they say no phone calls on the app?

Doesn't Compass have a Flowthru / Flowback like Eagle used to have? If so, I'm not sure it's the place to be, especially with the merger, and everybody downsizing... discuss....
